FAQs
So what are you guys?
Our mission, our goal, our sole reason for being, is to expose and educate the Stevens community to all the different styles of dance that exist. We here at Stevens TECHnique aim to provide a forum for members to share and learn from each other.
What kind of dances will you teach?
We depend on our members to further our talents. Often times, people want to share their skills, and we want to provide a fun environment for collaboration. We encourage everyone to share what they are good at and learn from their peers. Here are just a few styles that we are planning on touching:
- Popping
- Locking
- Breaking
- Whacking
- Tutting
- Vogue-ing
- Jazz
- Tap
- Lyrical
- Jazz
- Ballet
- Salsa
- Cha Cha
- Foxtrot
- Waltz
… just to name a few
Really? What’s the Catch?
My friend, there is no catch. We are a dance community that just wants to share the love of dance across our campus. We’ll hold dance workshops here at Stevens so that YOU can learn different styles of dance. We’ll also try to organize groups to go out and take classes outside of campus from some of the best choreographers around. What is better than dancing? Dancing with a group of friends! We are also dedicated to informing you all of any outside dance lessons or anything else worth mentioning in the world of dance.
Sounds great! How do I join?
Email us at technique@stevens.edu or come see us on Tuesday nights in the Jacobus Dance Studio from 9pm-11pm
