HALL OF FAME
Moving on to bigger and better things, these legends will always be a part of the dream that is TECHnique.
“To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking.” ~Agnes De Mille
Justin “The Professor” Eusebio (Founder)
Justin is a dancer trapped in an Engineering Manager profession. He started off his dance training by dancing with his mother at family parties, but finally received some instruction from several Filipino cotillions. Trained in ballroom and traditional cultural dances, he found a new fire for dance in Hip Hop. While he may not have the extensive background as the other directors, he has a passion like no other. He draws his inspiration from dancers like Jun Quemado, Shaun Evaristo, GiGi Torres, Erik Saradpon, Jeff Viray, Keone Madrid, Jed Florano, Kyle Hanagami, Mari Martin, Will Barrientos, and of course, Anne Marie Prieto, just to name a few. No matter where he is, you can probably find him dancing. He has no shame.
Katherina “Kathy” Imperial (Founder)
Kathy is also a dancer trapped in an engineering world. Quite possibly the greatest dancer at Stevens, she has the precision of Anne Marie mixed with the energy of Justin to create the PERFECT dancer. She started dancing at small studio called Dance Electra located in Staten Island, NY. There she spent 6 years learning ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and theater. She joined the competition troupe in 2002 and later joined the staff in 2003. In 2002 she was awarded Senior Most Improved and in 2003 she received the Senior Scholarship award. She has had her share of choreography for SIPAG-SYC in 2005 as well as a handful of cotillions. She was also recognized for the triple threat award for New York City Dance Alliance in 2006. She was the performance director for FAST in 2007 and choreographed for UNITY 2007 and 2008. She also enjoys dancing with her siblings in different types of ballroom.
Anne Marie Prieto a.k.a. AMP’d
Anne Marie Prieto came out spinning on her head when she was born. Gifted from birth with an incredible dancing talent, she dances now to simply inspire those around her. She has been formally trained in all types of dance including jazz, tap, lyrical, and ballet. Through various organizations, she has also received training in hip hop from some of the industries most well known choreographers. Not only a student, Anne Marie has shared her incredible amount of dance knowledge with her friends. She will be the Assistant Performance Director for FAST’s Unity Performance, where she hopes to show off her talents in her newest style, KRUMP. You can see her other choreography in some small movies- You Got Served, Step It Up, Step It Up 2: The Streets, and You Got Served AGAIN (in post production).
Kevin “The Professional” Fuhrman
Kevin joined TECHnique last semester and quickly asserted himself as one of the groups most valuable assets. While he may not admit to much, he is a closet dancer. His skill may only be outshined by his modesty as he often takes background roles and resposibilities in many endeavors in life. If you look real closely, you may just see him in his backup dancer rolls for Britney Spears, Usher, and even the legendary Michael Jackson. He was one of the orginal members of *N Sync, but was cut from the group because they felt he would outshine the rest. However, do not let his modesty fool you, for dance (and life in general) he has the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. His personal attitude could probably be summed up best by this quote, “if you aren’t living on the edge, then you’re taking up too much space.”
